World Book Day Thursday 7th March 2024

Date: 9th Feb 2022 @ 2:07pm

TPS will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March and we invite all children to participate by dressing up as a character from his/her favourite book.

It would be great if children could bring in a copy of the book their character is from and be prepared to talk about why they chose their character.

We look forward to seeing all the wild and wonderful outfits that the children select to wear!

Ofsted Report

Date: 8th Jun 2023 @ 11:01am

I am delighted to share with you our recent Ofsted inspection report.  As you read this report, I am sure you will be proud that your child(ren) attends Townfield Primary School.

During the inspection, your child(ren) demonstrated how hard they work here at school and most importantly, how much fun they have learning.

We are pleased that our improvement point is something we are already working on and will see the impact of very soon. To explain the improvement point in more detail, our inspector was exceptionally impressed with the subject knowledge demonstrated by pupils.  This is evidenced through a carefully planned curriculum, strong teaching and in books. However to be absolutely perfect, pupils need to verbally articulate 'disciplinary knowledge' (eg. talk like a Geographer, Historian etc) more confidently.

As a team, it's a super report for all to celebrate: staff, pupils, governors and parents.

Park Elsewhere, Show you Care

Date: 27th Jun 2022 @ 10:14am

The safety of our children and school community is of paramount importance.   We are extremely grateful for the support of our parents and carers when driving and parking around school.   Parking with courtesy and respect of our neighbours not only helps with community relations, but also helps keep our children safe.

Our children are also encouraged to walk to school (wherever possible) as part of Living Streets, to not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but help ease congestion around school.  This initiative compliments our work with the Local Authority and Merseyside Police -  Park Elsewhere, Show you Care!  We know it is not always possible for everyone to walk to school, but even if you can only do this for one ot two days a week this would still have a positive impact.   Below are some useful tips for how you could help.
