Year 2 - 2S: News items

Colourful Clothes Day

Date: 8th Oct 2021 @ 1:27pm

All children are invited to attend school in colourful clothes to celebrate Bonfire Night and also help raise money for Friends of Townfield (FOT) - the funds from this event will be sent to the North Pole for gifts for our children ahead of Father Christmas visiting on 21st December 2021.

Children are asked to bring in a £2 donation - however this is completely voluntary and families who will struggle with this donation should not refrain from sending their children in their own clothes.   For families with multiple children, the same principle as above applies.   This is a day for children to enjoy and is inclusive - donations will be collected as discretely as possible.

As above, monies raised from this event will be used to fund gifts for all children when Father Christmas visits in December.

e-Consent: school-aged vaccinations

NHS Wirral have introduced a new way for parents and carers to consent to their children’s school aged vaccinations (including the COVID-19 vaccine for 12 - 17 year olds)...

We’re introducing a new way for parents and carers to consent to their child’s school-aged vaccinations, including the COVID-19 vaccination. The new electronic consent (e-consent) process is easy, secure and convenient.

Parents and carers of pupils will give consent for their child’s school-aged vaccinations online using a new e-consent form instead of the paper forms which are sent home from school.

  • The e-consent forms will be used to consent for all school-based vaccinations:
  • Seasonal flu
  • DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, polio)
  • HPV (human papillomavirus)
  • MenACWY
  • MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)

Why we’re moving to e-consent…
• it’s much easier and quicker for parents, carers and schools
• consent forms can be completed on mobile phones, tablets or computers
• the process is completely safe, secure and convenient
• it saves paper and time.

How e-consent works…
• as a parents or carer you will receive a link to the e-consent form. This will be sent via an email or text from your child’s school
• upon receiving the link you will complete the form and click submit
• you will then receive an email confirming consent
• your completed e-consent form will be sent to our secure portal
• a report containing all consent forms will be generated and sent to the Trust’s immunisation team
• vaccination lists are generated your child will receive his / her / their vaccination in school.

Harvest Festival - Food Bank Collection

Date: 8th Oct 2021 @ 3:33pm

This term in RE, the children will be learning about Harvest and the celebration of the food that is grown on the land.

Please could the children bring in tinned/packaged food between Monday 11th and Friday 15th October.

Harvest is an important time of year for food banks, where they are able to provide emergency food and support to people in crisis. Townfield Primary School will mark this season by working alongside Wirral Foodbank. We are politely asking if your child could bring in any of the following to support this worthwhile cause.

In-date tinned and packaged food, specifically including:

  • Tinned potatoes
  • Tinned fruit
  • Sugar
  • Fruit squash
  • Coffee (small)
  • Tinned tuna
  • Custard
  • Biscuits
  • Instant mash
  • Rice pudding
  • Washing up liquid

*Wirral Foodbank have plenty of BEANS & TEA thank you*

Unfortunately, food banks are not able to store fresh or chilled items. Small packets and tins are preferred, if possible please.

Thank you for your continued support,
