Our homework includes weekly home reading as well as Times Tables Rock Stars and weekly Spellings handed out on a Friday,

Children are expected to log onto Times Tables Rock Stars for 5-10 minutes every night.

Children will be given nuggets to complete at home, including spelling, reading comprehension, SPAG and Maths
Nuggets are set on Fridays and checked by teachers the following Thursday
11+ practice will be provided but there is no expectation to complete this

Children are expected to read at home 5 days a week using our new online reading system.
Please ensure children read their school banded books before their reading for pleasure books.

*Research shows that reading is a key building block for success across the curriculum, supporting vocabulary, grammar and general knowledge. The EEF found that effective reading comprehension strategies can lead to an average of 7 months’ additional progress over the course of a year.

A short amount of time spent daily on these basic skills will make a huge difference so please inform teachers if you are unable to complete tasks!
*Teachers may send additional paper-based homework from time to time to be completed over the weekend.
