PSHE or Personal, Social, Health & Economic eductation focuses on developing the knowledge, skills and attributes to keep children and young people healthy and safe and to prepare them for life and work.
At Townfield we feel that is essential that we prepare our children for the future world that they will be living in. Children will be exploring units on relationships, health and wellbeing and living in the wider world.
We will be developing links with the local area through projects and we look forward to sharing that work with you.
In health and well-being sessions, children will be learning not only how to keep their body healthy but also their mental health. They will be exploring strategies such as Mindfulness and relaxation.
Children will be exploring relationships: how to have a healthy relationship with friends and family, what to do when they are having a problem with a friend and skills to deal with difficult relationships.
As part of the Year 5 and Year 6 curriculum we will delivering sessions on sex education. The lessons are at an appropriate level for the age range and will use resources that will support the learning. We will contact you prior to these sessions and invite you to look at the resources if you so wish.
