This half term we are learning about forces in Science. We have explored stress forces, contact and non contact forces and also how magnets only attract to some metals.

During our computing lessons, we have started to explore how animations are made. So far, we have learnt how to make a flip book and created a stop motion. This week we used our devices to work on Scratch Jr and create a short sequence for a sprite!

In Year 3, our topic for PSHE this half term is ‘What keeps us safe?’. During this week’s PSHE lesson Year 3 had a visit from the Community Police. The Police officers spoke to us about ways we can keep safe in the community, the difference between needed to call 999 or 101 and how we keep safe every day. It was a very informative session and we are looking forward to working closely with the Police again, and also people in our community who help us.
3P Art Remembrance Day Poppies

This week during our Art lesson, we made Remembrance Day poppies using recycled bottles.
Our poppies are going to be part of a display in the Bombed Out Church in Liverpool.

In 3P we have been investigating sources of light in Science. We have learnt that the moon is not a light source, it's light is reflected from the sun. We explored different materials and identified them as transparent, translucent or opaque. Through our investigations we designed new reflective book bags for Mrs Loftus and also new curtains that prevented any light from passing through.

This half term in DT we have been learning about healthy food, how to look after our bodies and where our food comes from. We designed and created our own healthy sandwiches. They were delicious!
Food Bank Charles Thompson Mission Charity

We have been blown away by the amount of food that the families of Townfield have generously donated to Charles Thompson Mission charity! When the donations were collected on Tuesday, the volunteers from the charity said that our school had provided the biggest harvest that they had received this year! We thank you all very much for your ongoing support and generosity. You have helped so many people in need this harvest season.
