Enrichment & Clubs

Enrichment Programme

Enrichment at Townfield takes place in a variety of ways from exciting day trips, memorable residential trips and vistors to our extensive after-school club programme.  Enrichment provides extended learning opportunities and challenges for our children outside of the normal classroom routine.  Through enrichment, our children develop a  sense of self-awareness and often gain a better understanding of what they are learning in the classroom.  Enrichment promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills, helps to improve concentration and makes learning more meaningful, valuable and rewarding.

To compliment our fantastic curriculum at Townfield, we also offer an extensive range of enrichment clubs to our children.  These clubs range from sporting to creative in nature and we are constantly developing this offering to ensure that the children have a range of opportunities available to them.  In addition, wherever possible, we offer clubs free of charge or with a minimum charge which ensures access for all.  Below are details of the current clubs on offer at Townfield.

How Long is Each Club?

Club terms run in line with school terms.   All school run clubs run from 3.15 pm to 4.00/4.15pm.

How To Book?

Clubs book up very quickly so we would advise all parents/carers to ensure that they discuss clubs with their children and complete any club online forms which will have been emailed to parents.  Some clubs have limited availability and therefore will be based on first-come-first-served basis.

Unfortunately it is not possible for children to change clubs once allocated.  This is to ensure club registers are always accurate for safeguarding purposes.

Access to Clubs for All

In certain circumstances, remissions may be made in relation to clubs for children who receive free school meals.  Children on our SEND register are also offered free places, together with an offering of clubs specifically related to those with SEN requirements.

Please contact the school office to discuss, should you you require any help with clubs and your child falls into either the Pupil Premium or SEND category.
