1B- Diversity Day
Lesson: PSHE and citizenship
The children read the book My World, Your World by Melanie Walsh and talked about how people all around the world may be different. Here are some examples of what they discussed in class; some people may eat with a knife and fork and some may eat with chopsticks, some may wear a sari and some wear a coat and snow boots, some speak Spanish and some speak French etc. They talked about how it is okay to be different and we linked this with some of the British Values such as, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance. The children then got to go into Class 2MB to share each other’s work from Diversity Day. They were so proud of their work and had so much fun meeting the older children.
