School Dinners
Townfield Primary School has an 'in-house' catering service to ensure our children's health and wellbeing is the primary consideration when considering their catering needs. This enables us to offer improved choice and bespoke menus to tempt young palates, offering food that is healthier both in content and preparation. Ms Colligan, our Catering Lead and her team are dedicated to ensuring they provide meals that are both appealing and appetising to all our children.
Our menu has been designed with the pupils and includes Nutritional Regulations. We have taken the children's favourite dishes and made them healthier by using fresh ingredients. We regularly conduct parent and student surveys when compiling new menus to allow children to have some input in their school meals.

All children are entitled to free school milk up to their 5th birthday only.

Dinner Cost
Our school dinners are priced at £10.50 per week (£2.10 per day) and are payable in weekly blocks. School dinners must be paid for in advance (e.g. by each Friday for the following week). Payments should be made using ParentPayonline payments system. If you require log in and password details please email schooloffice@townfield.wirral.sch.uk. Please note if your child has an outstanding dinner debt they will not be able to receive a school dinner and must bring a packed lunch until the debt is cleared. If children arrive at school without a packed lunch and outstanding dinner debt, the School Office will be required to call parents to request a packed lunch is provided. Should debts remain outstanding, should will be left with no alternative but to pursue recovery in line with school as per the appropriate policy. Once again Townfield Primary have been assessed at VERY GOOD. Our Catering staff take not only the quality of our food offering seriously, but also the level of hygiene in our kitchen.
Free School Meals
Checking eligibility is now quick and easy through our Online Free School Meals system. Simply click the link Online Free School Meals and enter your details. The system will automatically check your eligibility and notify Townfield; your child will be entitled to a free school meal and the associated benefits, from the day we receive confirmation, so don't delay.
All children from reception, year 1 and year 2 infants are entitled to a free school meal under the Government’s Universal Free School Meals scheme). Applications for Free School Meals should not to be confused with the Governments universal free school meals scheme. If your child qualifies for a universal free meal and would also quality for free school meals under the eligibility criteria, please STILL APPLY. If you meet the above criteria, it is important to apply as this registers your child for pupil premium; additional funding available for school and entitles your child to discounted school and residential trips for their entire school life at Townfield Primary.

School Meals Review
Following a recent audit of School Meal provision within school which included sourcing feedback from parents, staff and children new menus have now been rolled out. Please see below details of the audit together with the updated menus, packed lunch policy and "Eat Well" plate.
School Meals Taster Sessions
We will be offering Taster Sessions to parents & carers to taste samples from our menus and provide feedback to ensure we are continually improving our school meals offering. We will share details of any future taster sessions which school are holding below.
