In order to get to know each other a little more, we have been having some circle time sessions where we discussed what we did in the summer holidays, our likes and dislikes, who is in our family and what we enjoy doing. For our PSHE display board, we used mirrors to look at the features on our faces and then used these observations to draw our self-portraits for the display.

Date: 11th Sep 2023 @ 9:22am
As we prepare to launch our new vehical text; Major Glad, Major Dizzy;
We had some pictures of old toys for the children to observe and talk about within a group, Encouraging them to consider the objects and how they might relate to each other. It is important to encourage the children to create links between the objects so we generated a discussion between the children about the objects using the following prompts;
• What are these objects?
• Where have they come from?
• Who might they belong to?
• Tell me about the toys...
• Do you have any toys like these?
• How do you think they might be linked?
The children came up with fabulous ideas and were able to explain their reasons for them.

This week we have been counting, forming, ordering and naming numbers to 10 both forwards and backwards. We have been counting objects using one to one correspondence and a tens frame. We then matched the numerals and objects to the correct number name.
