Showing our Emotions

Date: 17th Sep 2020 @ 7:31pm

In PSHE this week, we discussed how we show our emotions.  The children decided that we usually show our emotions through facial expressions, body language and the way we act and also by what we say.

We brainstormed lots of emotions that we can show with facial expressions and discussed how some of our facial features (mouth, eyes, eyebrows) can change shape and position.

Mrs Simmons drew a large face on the whiteboard and kept drawing a new facial expression on the face.  We then had to discuss which emotion we thought the face was showing and see if we could think of any other words for that emotion.

We chose an emotion and showed it with our own facial expression.

Teddy Bears

What is deconstructed role play? It is basically role play that allows children to be totally in control of their own learning, for them to take ownership of their ideas through the use of open-ended resources.

Our children listen to stories daily and can select their own books to read in our quiet area. We use puppets, props and natural materials to act out stories. Here the children are playing different roles in the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
