Child Health & Development Review

Date: 21st Jun 2022 @ 11:29am

Following the success of the E-consent programme for school age vaccinations Wirral Community Health and Care Trust are now offering parents the opportunity to complete the F2 (reception) school health assessment using an electronic form.

There have been many advantages in moving to electronic forms:

  • the process of completing the health assessment is much easier and quicker for parents, carers and school
  • forms can be completed on mobile phones, tablets or computers
  • the process is completely safe, secure and convenient, saving both paper and time
  • the school will no longer be required to process paper health assessments forms on behalf of Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. All information will be captured directly by the Trust in electronic form.

Attached below is a copy of the letter from the 0-19 team containing the approriate information and links. This is in line with the National Healthy Child Programme.Once completed these forms are returned to a secure email and reviewed and the 0-19 team. Parents who identify concerns will be contacted by a member of the 0-19 team and appropriate support/referrals offered.

For your convenience, a link to the questionnaire can be found below:-

Park Elsewhere, Show you Care

Date: 27th Jun 2022 @ 10:14am

The safety of our children and school community is of paramount importance.   We are extremely grateful for the support of our parents and carers when driving and parking around school.   Parking with courtesy and respect of our neighbours not only helps with community relations, but also helps keep our children safe.

living streets walk to school.png

Our children are also encouraged to walk to school (wherever possible) as part of Living Streets, to not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but help ease congestion around school.  This initiative compliments our work with the Local Authority and Merseyside Police -  Park Elsewhere, Show you Care!  We know it is not always possible for everyone to walk to school, but even if you can only do this for one ot two days a week this would still have a positive impact.   Below are some useful tips for how you could help.

Jubilee Fun Day Info Friday 27th May 2022(1).jpg

What is it? Our fantastic FOT team have put together a day our children will certainly remember.    This will be a great fun day for all our children which offers a range of fun activities.

Who is this for? Everyone from Nursery right up to year 6!

Where & When? In school during the school day, (sorry children only, no parents/carers), on the last day of term Friday, 27th May 2022 (school will close at normal time).

How much is this? The cost is £5 per child, capped at £10 per household.   Please note no child will be excluded from this day if no payment is received however if FOT do not receive enough funds to pay for the amazing range of activities which will be available on the day this will result in FOT being unable to arrange future events, such as Christmas and the possibility of a Panto for the whole school. Please support our fabulous FOT.  If you are  in anyway concerned about the cost of this day, please contact the school office who will deal with any communications with the utmost discretion. #Eachandeverychild

How do I pay? Please send your child's £5 (£10 for a family) into school in an envelope or pass to the school office.

What should my child wear? The theme red, white and blue in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.  Children can wear any of these colours, or all if they wish.  Of course if you do have anything red, white or blue, a simple accessory will do!.

Uniform Working Group

Date: 25th Mar 2022 @ 12:15pm

Proposed Uniform Change

Following feedback from the recent uniform questionnaire (see results here), we are inviting all parents and carers to have their say and what uniform they want for both Academic (day to day) and Activity (PE & Woodland) uniform.   The recent survey results gave a very divided/mixed opinion and therefore school wanted to offer all parents and carers an opportunity to have their say by liaising with a parent/carer representative from each year group.

Following self nominations, parent representatives for each year group agreed to meet on Thursday 24th March 2022 at 2.30 pm to discuss the results of previous survey and any comments from and will circulate a final uniform survey, together with a summary discussions at this meeting.

Full details of the 3 proposed uniform choices (maroon, red or grey) circulated in due course.

Regardless of any current uniform whether it be maroon (day to day) or red (PE/Woodland) and the agreed uniform for next year, there will be no requirement to replace any items and these can continue to be worn until your child has outgrown them.
